Whats included 

The yoga 

As yoga is a big part of the retreat, we like to ensure that it can cater for everyone, so this means that all of the classes are suitable for all abilities and will cater for beginners as well as advanced yogis.

During the retreat we will explore the body through a variety of sequences, discovering a sense of fluidity as we transition between different asanas. We will work with pranayama techniques as well as mindfulness meditation to begin our practice and help us to cultivate a mind-body connection. Each morning’s practice will have a different focus from twists to balances and we will use this movement to get not only deeper into our physical bodies, but also into our mental body. Our flows will be working with building coordination and increased physical awareness.
 
The evening practice will take a slower more restorative pace, working within the practice of Yin yoga to open deep into the joints of the body. This works hand in hand with the walking as it helps us to restore the balance of the body.

Vinyasa yoga can also be seen as being a dance incorporating body, mind, and breath with full awareness of what is happening right now within our experience of the moment, while measuring the impact of action versus reaction. If we move our body in a way that allows our edge to express itself fully through the breath, every vinyasa yoga practice can allow for a smooth rhythmic breathing pattern to unfold with our movement and ultimately create a meditation within movement.

The walks 

All of the retreats come in different styles which means there will always be a retreat, and a walk that suits you. 

The beauty of these retreats is that it can be flexible, and that you need to do what is comfortable for you. If you feel on the day that you would actually like to go off and explore on your own, which is sometimes the case then we are more than happy to offer suggestions. This is because we know the importance of getting the most out of your time, especially if you are using the retreat as a time to escape.

The accommodation 

Glasfryn is a beautiful property and provides guests m with the opportunity to kick back and relax in a home from home environnment. The property has 3 bedrooms available as either twins or super king double beds plus a bed settee located in the lounge, so can sleep up to 8 people. Glasfryn has 2 separate lounge areas one of which is upstairs with a traditional wood burner. On the same level is a spacious open plan kitchen diner, bedroom and newly fitted shower room. Downstairs comprises of a second lounge (with bed settee), 2 bedrooms and family bathroom. Patio areas are available both at the front and rear of the house.

Glasfryn is a delightful character property just 3 minutes walking distance of Beddgelert village centre. It offers peace and tranquility and a spectacular setting as it has 7.5 acres of private woodland and off road parking. The property has an upside down lay out to take advantage of the beautiful views of the garden and also Craig y Llan and Moel Hebog mountains that sit as a backdrop. Beddgelert is undoubtedly Snowdonia’s loveliest village. A place of legend, culture and history; yet rich with activities, adventures and attractions. It is a beautiful place to visit, and an event better place to stay for a holiday.

The village, in keeping with its location in the Snowdonia National Park, is picturesque and unspoilt. The beautiful Aberglaslyn Pass and the Nant Gwynant valley are near-by neighbours. Wooded vales, rocky slopes and mountain lakes fill the surrounding countryside. And what a countryside it is; with scenery activities, attractions, history and culture for all.

The food

I am a strong believer that the key to a healthy mind is a healthy life and a massive part to play is what we eat. All of the food is gentle on the body and will make you feel energised before we even set foot out the door. As all meals will be provided you can be rest assured that it will be healthy, hearty and homemade.

We pride ourselves in being able to cater for all walks of life and as food is a major walk of life we like to make sure that everyone gets what they enjoy. We appreciate that some people have allergies, intolerances, preferences etc so we cater accordingly.

All of the food we cook is homemade, vegetarian, and healthy (apart from the odd bit of cake!!) so we know that you are getting the best out of your food. Being a massive foody myself I can assure you that you will not go hungry. You will be provided with all meals from Friday dinner time through to Sunday lunch time (unless of course it is a longer weekend).

We always make sure that we are as environmentally and Eco friendly as possible, so we do our best to source locally and use organic products as much as possible, including growing as much produce as we can and using eggs from our happy hens 🙂
