This is my story
Welcome to Morris Mountains Yoga and Walking Retreats!
Rebecca Morris has always been in the outdoors for as long as she can remember. Even as a child, she was always outside, and she just loves it! It’s her way of life, it’s part of who she is!
Rebecca began exploring the world at the tender age of 17. She has travelled to many different countries and experienced the richness of many different cultures. She says,
“I have seen so many wonderful things in my life, I feel very fortunate.”
In the end, Rebecca chose to settle in North Wales. This is because it has so many things to offer in terms of its culture, history, mountains, lakes, rivers, valleys coastline and so much more. It has everything, and Rebecca wants to share it all with you!
She wanted to find a way to communicate her love of nature and the world with others, which is why she started working and training in the outdoors industry. She loves to share her experiences and expertise along with her bubbly personality with as many people as possible.
Rebecca started getting her qualifications in 2008 as a climbing instructor and a mountain leader as that is what she is truly passionate about, the mountains. She began all of this at university where she worked for a variety of different companies, some big and some small – all very different in their nature in terms of what they provide which has given her a wide variety of experience and vast knowledge of the outdoors industry.
In October 2016, the realisation hit her that her love of doing yoga, combined with her passion for spending time in the nurturing mountains was a match made in Heaven! She then decided that she wanted to share this perfect combination of passions so, Morris Mountains was born.
“I founded the company, with the help of my mum and friends in October 2016 and we ran our first retreat in April 2017. That’s when I trained to become a yoga teacher, specialising in Hatha yoga. We have grown as a small business offering fully inclusive retreats to all outdoor lovers, and novices.”
Morris Mountain Yoga and Walking Retreats consider everybody’s needs and abilities. All the delicious and nutritious food is homemade and is as free of as many allergens as we can think of; it’s vegan, gluten free, nut free, and lactose free. It’s good wholesome, healthy, delicious food…..and we have cake, of course!
We have created relationships with different accommodation owners which means that we know we are getting amazing spaces for us to stay and to do our yoga. They are set in the most beautiful parts of North Wales, so we are very lucky in that aspect.
We currently offer yoga and walking retreats, which suits a wide range of experience and abilities as we get an amazing mix of people joining us.
In 2019 we will begin to provide slightly different activities for those who have perhaps been to us before and would like to try something different. Things that they might not want to do on their own. The new offerings include, bigger mountain ascents, scrambling, wild swimming, as well as our walking and exploration weekends, all of which include morning and evening yoga classes.
